Guangdong has been undergoing great changes since its
opening-up. As its most important region, Pearl River Delta
Region attracts world attention with its rapid economic
development. In this region, Shenzhen, an emerging green
city, Guangzhou, a historical famous city and Hong Kong,
world's financial center, forms up Hong Kong-Guangzhou
Golden Economic Corridor through well connected
transportation network. Dongguan just lies at the center of
the Corridor. This endowed advantageous geographic location
makes Dongguan practically serve as the hinterland for Hong
Kong, Shenzhen and Guangzhou. The cultural and economical
influence from the three cities combined with Dongguan's
economic development triggered large flows of finance,
talented people and materials. Dongguan is winning a
name world-wide as an International Manufacturing and
Processing Industry Base, creating a phenomenon "Dongguan
ceasing production, the world market runs short of supply".
With developed industry as backup, Hong Kong as window,
Guangdong Modern International Exhibition Center will become
a base for world's exhibition industry.
